Free community event in honor of International Women’s Day!

Gateway Community College, Curran Community Center
20 Church St., New Haven, CT

Moderated by Babz Rawls Ivy, Editor in Chief of Inner-City News

Susan Burton’s story of overcoming overwhelming odds is an inspiration to people across the nation, particularly women who were formerly incarcerated or are in recovery from addiction. After a personal tragedy, Susan’s suffering resulted in a cycle inside the criminal justice system for nearly two decades. Susan persevered, founding A New Way of Life Re-Entry Project (ANWOL) in 1998. Susan is a recognized leader in the criminal justice reform and re-entry rights movements. Burton is the author of "Becoming Ms. Burton: From Prison to Recovery to Leading the Fight for Incarcerated Women".
