Criminal Justice Trauma & Gender Agencies Project

Criminal Justice Trauma and Gender Project (CJ TAG) brought trauma-informed, gender-responsive care to agencies in the Greater New Haven to agencies that provide reentry services to previously incarcerated individuals. Agencies involved in CJ TAG received consultation from noted experts in trauma and gender including Stephanie S. Covington, PhD, LCSW , Eileen M. Russo, MA, Steve Bistran, MA, Linda Lentini, Colette Anderson, MSW, LCSW, and Kathleen Callahan.

There have been multiple TAG Agencies projects, designed for different agencies such as criminal justice, women and girls and behavioral health.  The process included a toolkit, a two-day kickoff, technical assistance in implementation plans and fidelity scale, site visits, walkthroughs from peers or peer agency, staff training, and a train the trainer’s course with CEUs. Agencies apply and are selected to participate in the multi-year process.
